Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluations
A variety of tests can be utilized to identify and diagnose hearing loss. The methods used depend in part on the age of the individual and the symptoms they present.
Each exam will help determine the degree of hearing loss, if any, and whether it can be treated by medicine or surgery—or through the use of a hearing device.
Test results will be explained in terms that are easily understandable. You’ll be informed of the options available to you. Or, if applicable, test results will be forwarded to your referring physician.
Digital Hearing Aids and Assistive Devices
At Coast Hearing, we offer the latest technological breakthroughs, including “invisible” hearing aids, devices that are both Bluetooth and iPhone compatible—and rechargeable.
We select from an array of industry-leading manufacturers like Oticon, Widex, Phonak, ReSound, Starkey, and Siemens/Signia. As a result, we can more acutely address your hearing loss, needs, and lifestyle without limiting your options.
Please know, if you or a family member are considering the purchase of new hearing aids, we are happy to provide an objective second opinion without obligation.
In most cases, we can also perform maintenance on your present devices, including: hearing aid repair and cleaning, diagnostic check and adjustment, wax filters, domes, and hearing aid batteries.
Balance Testing and Treatment
If you are experiencing light-headedness, a sensation of losing your balance, or a sense of feeling unsteady, you may be one of the millions of Americans who experience dizziness.
Results from diagnostic procedures, such as the Video Head Inpulse Test (VHIT), videonystagmography (VNG) and bithermal caloric testing, help provide your medical doctor with a comprehensive picture of how the inner ear/vestibular system is functioning—information necessary to make an accurate diagnosis.
In most cases, we perform balance testing and treatment through physician referral only.
Custom Earmolds and Hearing Protection
At Coast Hearing, we offer custom molds for a variety of needs: swimming, surfing, music, motorcycle riding, smart phones, and snore plugs.
We also offer custom digital in-ear monitors for professional musicians, news- and sportscasters, and custom dynamic digital shooters' hearing protection.
